The ripple effect – why undulating tiles work

A simple white tile is a popular choice for the bathroom, creating a bright airy feel, but sometimes a flush white surface can look a little too clinical. An undulating glazed tile, on the other hand, brings an artisan-feel to walls, keeping the aesthetic clean whilst adding character.

Indigenous’ handmade Blanco glazed wall tile is a perfectly imperfect example.  Unlike a flat, machine-made design, its dips and bumps, combined with its glossy surface, catch the light from different angles, creating a ripple-effect.  As well as adding texture, the tiles are also ideal for hiding imperfections on uneven walls.  An experienced tiler is recommended for a pristine ‘wobbly’ installation, as extra adhesive might be needed in certain areas to create a level base.

As well as bright white Blanco, Indigenous’ collection of glazed tiles includes an ivory and cream tile, along with soft pastel shades, sea/sky tones and jewel colours.  The tiles are offered in four different formats, in square and rectangular designs, from 100 x 100 x 10mm in size.
